4 Nights 5 Days
In ancient Indian traditions, Somnath is closely associated with the liberation of Chandra (the Moon God) from the curse of his father-in-law, Daksha Prajapati. Chandra, who was married to twenty-seven daughters of Daksha, showed favoritism towards Rohini, neglecting his other wives. Daksha, feeling aggrieved, cursed Chandra, causing him to lose his luminous powers. On the advice of Prajapita Brahma, Chandra went to Prabhas Teerth and worshipped Bhagvan Shiva. Impressed by Chandra's immense penance and devotion, Bhagvan Shiva lifted the curse of darkness from him. According to Puranic traditions, Chandra constructed a golden temple, followed by Ravana building a silver temple, and Bhagvan Shree Krishna is said to have erected the Somnath temple using Sandalwood.
